We know that in other countries outside Italy it is not so easy to find a bidet in the bathroom. Though it might seem unbelievable, in countries like the UK, Germany and the USA bidets are not at all common. In Italy, on the other hand, the bidet is as widespread as it is used, and was made compulsory by Ministerial Decree of 5 July 1975. As stated in Article 7 "For each dwelling, at least one bathroom must be equipped with the following sanitary facilities: toilet, bidet, bath tub or shower, basin".
